BOOK BUG FAVOURITES

Things have gone a little quiet, so I'm going to tell you about my favourite book in the meantime.
"My favourite book as a child was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. I have re-read this book so many times I've lost count. I've spent hours imagining the story in my head, dreaming about it, all thanks to the marvellous story telling abilities of the author and the fabulous illustrations by Quentin Blake. So much so, I can't even bring myself to watch the two movies for fear they either eclipse my imaginings or don't live up to them."
This was my first Roald Dahl book and it let me on a love affair that lasted all through my teenage years. I've yet to encounter an author that can match him in his vivid imagination and crazy stories. Genius

Book Bug has its first entry in the favourite book list courtesy of Barbara from March House Books Blog:
"My favourite book as a child (and still one of my favourites today) is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C S Lewis. I was presented with a paperback copy of this at a school prize giving day (sadly not a first edition!) and read it so often that it eventually fell apart."
Amazingly (you will probably think), this is the only book I've ever read in this series, I only discovered the rest when the films came out a few years back! I won't tell you how old I am, but needless to same I am very ashamed of this fact. So they are now on my to-read list!
